photo Hokkaido Sushi M Hotel Buffet 5.jpg
Singaporeans love Japanese buffets because we get to indulge in unlimited servings of sashimi. Over at Hokkaido Sushi, you can have limitless amount of sashimi too, except that the sashimi quality here is definitely top-notch. I've been to countless buffets, and I've had my fair share of sashimi and I can safely say that the quality and freshness of the sashimi at Hokkaido Sushi is second to none. With over 80 dishes on their Hokkaido Buffet Experience menu, I believe that you will be getting your money's worth here.

It was heaven on earth, as hundreds of adorable pups and dog-lovers gathered, injecting life, buzz and joy into the quiet and tranquail Sentosa Cove. I was very impressed with the picnic pack which comes with a really durable picnic mat, Watermelon Seafood Fried Rice from Gin Khao, chips from Mister Potato, drinks from Snapple and doggy treats from Jerhigh.

Ciel Patisserie's Second Outlet @ Jalan Bukit Merah

photo Ciel Patisserie Jalan Bukit Merah 2.jpg
Ciel Patisserie has been around for a couple of years now. I remember visiting them when they were still located at a tiny corner in Bugis. Chara Lum, the founder of Ciel Patisserie, is my schoolmate from Anglo-Chinese Junior College who went on to Le Cordon Bleu in Paris. She has brought delightful and affordable French pastries to the neighbourhood of Hougang when she opened up her very own brick and mortar shop back in 2012. Following the success of their first outlet, and their online bakery business, Ciel Patisserie is ready to say hello and bring life to the quiet Jalan Bukit Merah estate.

Big Lazy Chop @ Short Street (Selegie)

photo Big Lazy Chop Short Street 6.jpg
Six months old Big Lazy Chop might not be situated at the most easily located or eye-catching spot but it is actually pretty near town. It's just a short walk away from the famous Rochor Beancurd at Selegie. There's ample parking in the compound and the 90-seater has both an alfresco and air-conditioned area. At the helm of the kitchen is Chef Oh, who has more than 37 years of experience whipping up palate-pleasing fare. He has come up with around 30 sauces that diners can pair with meat or seafood options. The Salted Egg Yolk XL Spare Ribs ($20) is one of the most popular items here and I urge you to give these gigantic ribs a go!

Located within FIVE Square at the Great Eastern Centre is Senate Coffee, a specialty coffee kiosk that serves up healthy grain bowls and nutrient bowls. If you've tried the grain bowls at Populus and are a fan, you'll be pleased to know that you can get them here too! A darker roast is served at Senate Coffee so do expect a nuttier and less acidic cuppa.
