Hearth & Heat - A Wood-Fired Weekend Grill Buffet at The Carvery

The Hearth & Heat buffet at The Carvery has been running for more than 2 months now but have you tried it? If you haven't, you really should before the buffet ends at the end of this month! In addition to their regular buffet spread, diners can excite their palates with premium meats and dishes roasted over a spanking new Argentinian Grill which allows for more precise cooking and preparation.

Highlights include the Argentinian Ribeye, a rare find with a high omega-3 fat content, Australian Lamb Shoulder in garlic, rosemary and thyme, and The Carvery's signature rotisserie chicken in the form of Honey Lemon Chicken. However, the undeniable star of the meat-centric buffet has to be the Hickory Pulled Pork Burger.

Bone-in pork leg is seasoned and hot smoked in a wood-fired oven before it is doused in homemade hickory barbecue sauce. The cooking process might be tedious and time-consuming but the final product makes the effort worthwhile. The pulled pork is insanely tender and is packed full of addictive flavours. Chef sandwiches a generous helping of pulled pork and apple slaw between two fried buns and every bite promises a taste of heaven. I never thought I would fall in love with a "pork burger" like this. It was so good, I had to get seconds. I was totally mesmerized by how well-executed the pulled pork was and even my dining partner had nothing but praises for it. So incredibly delish!

I love my beef and while the ribeye was tasty, nothing could steal the show away from the pulled pork burger. The housemade Bean Stew (baked beans) and the Cinnamon and Vanilla Roasted Pineapple are not to be missed too. I really enjoyed the baked beans and I loved the grilled pineapple even more. I've always had a weakness for grilled pineapple because it is amazingly sweet and you don't get "cuts" from eating too much!

After an indulgent dinner, I'll suggest popping by the adjacent bar, Aqua Luna, for a tipple, or two. A couple of refreshing cocktails and awesome vibes won't hurt, right?
