Simply Shiok

Simply Shiok is located in the quiet One North Residences. It is of walking distance from the main road. Personally, I like the place because it is extremely quiet and on a weekday, you practically own the place when you are there. I like the serenity and peace of the whole area. It's a cute little shop tucked away on the first level of what look like colonial shophouses to me until The Star said that I am a retard because those buildings don't look colonial at all. Haha. Well, setting aside, let's look at the icecream.

The both of us had a double scoop each. The Star had a scoop of tiramisu and a scoop of strawberry (on purpose, knowing that I don't eat strawberry so I can't steal his icecream) while I had some Kahlua thingy and the classic and can-never-go-wrong flavour. Guess what? Cookies and cream. The icecream was oooo-kay. I still prefer Icecream Gallery's and Island Creamery's fo' sure. What was good about the place was that we sat there for a good hour plus and had the whole place to ourselves. A good place for people who want to spend a long afternoon chilling over some icecream without having to worry about crowds coming in and having to give up seats.

G7 Frog Porridge

We were hungry one night and wanted supper pretty badly. So, we went to Chun Tin road (opposite Beauty World) which I think is a pretty good place for supper. We couldn't decide if we wanted chicken rice or frog leg porridge and had to play a few rounds of rock, paper and scissors to decide(yes, I'm not kidding)haha. As you probably would have already known(from the picture) that we had frog porridge in the end. 5 frogs, a whole pot of porridge and prawn salad you tiao for the two fatties. Full and satisfied we definitely were! I wouldn't say its fantastic but it's VERY filling for two empty tummies. We spent around $30 which might be a bit pricey for supper but well, we don't eat frog leg porridge often!
