(CLOSED) Le Binchotan - Amazing Japanese-French Creations with a Rich Smokiness

photo Le Binchotan uniĀ  caviar.jpg
Le Binchotan has been around for awhile now, but the new chef-owner, Jeremmy, who have had stints at Iggy's and Sola, has refreshed things, injected more goodness into the food, and is bringing even more to the table. The name Le Binchotan is a combination of a French word, and a Japanese word, and this captures the essence of the restaurant perfectly. The restaurant specialises in Japanese-French flavours that are elevated with a trademark smokiness that can only be achieved with the use of binchotan, a rare and expensive charcoal.

(CLOSED)Dinner by Heston Blumenthal - Is This Famous Restaurant Worth a Visit?

photo Dinner by Heston Melbourne 8.jpg
I made a reservation at Dinner by Heston Blumenthal quite sometime before my trip to Melbourne. I was super stoked for my dinner here. The kind folks at Dinner saved me a table by the window, even though it was just me. I was quite touched as I thought that they would give such lovely seats to couples or families, instead of a lone diner, especially when the restaurant was full.

Beauty in the Pot - Newest and Biggest Outlet at OneKM Mall

photo Beauty in the pot onekm 10.jpg
Beauty in the Pot is possibly Singapore's favourite hotpot place. I've eaten here countless of times, and I remain addicted to their Signature Beauty Collagen Soup, and Fried Beancurd Skin. There were times that I travelled all the way from my home in the west to Centrepoint in the wee hours of the morning just because I had to satiate those intense cravings. Many would compare Beauty in the Pot to Hai Di Lao, which isn't unusual. I am a huge fan of Hai Di Lao too, having first tried it back in 2013. I love their tomato soup, and their fish slices, and I've dined there numerous times too. However, in all honesty, ever since I've tried BITP, I have only been to HDL once, because I was already at Clarke Quay. Are you a huge fan of BITP too? If so, you'll be pleased to know that they have opened their largest outlet, yet, at OneKM mall, just a level above their very first outlet in Singapore.

Don Play Play - Best Japanese Food Delivery in Singapore

 photo IMG_7799.jpg
Started by three friends who each has a background in the F&B industry, Don Play Play is set to be the next big delivery player in town. A cheeky play on the famous phrase “don’t play play”, Don Play Play is quintessentially “Singlish”, and Singaporean. The team hopes that the catchy name, which was thought up by Miss Tam Chiak, Singapore's favourite food blogger, will capture the attention of the masses, and also reflect that Don Play Play is a proud homegrown brand. As the name suggests, Don Play Play focuses on whipping up the yummiest dons or rice bowls. They have rolled out four tantalizing flavours to dazzle the tastebuds of the lucky students and residents of the National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University, and six creations for the working professionals in the CBD.

The Farm Cafe (Collingwood Childrens' Farm) - One of Melbourne's Best Cafes

photo The Farm Cafe Collingwood 7.jpg
The Farm Cafe is not the most accessible cafe, especially if you aren't driving. However, I promise you that this cafe will be worth the trip! You can easily spend hours here. Start by having a lovely brunch at the cafe, before taking a walk around the farm, and get ready for guinea pig cuddles and cow milking sessions!

Sushi Jin - One of the Best Omakase Dinners in Singapore

 photo Sushi Jin Omakase 1.jpg
I'm not an expert when it comes to omakase dinners, especially when I haven't dined at the big names. Shinji, Hashida, Sushi Jiro, and Shoukouwa are on my list but till my bank account is fuller, I won't be able to indulge in a dinner at any of these establishments. I have, however, been on the lookout for awesome omakase dinners that come with a more pocket-friendly price tag. In recent times, I've dined at Ryo Sushi twice, and Hakumai. And now, Sushi Jin by the Les Amis Group.
