Zafferano - The Saturday Italian Table Brunch with Free Flow Champagne!

Indulging in a hearty brunch seems to be what most Singaporeans get up to over the weekends. But what's better than a hearty brunch? Well, if you ask me, an Italian brunch which comes with a free-flow of delicious treats, wine, and champagne certainly sounds more enticing! Zafferano's popular Saturday brunch has made a comeback due to overwhelming demand. Perched on the 43rd storey of Ocean Financial Centre, the elegant restaurant promises a tantalising spread of classic Italian delights that will satisfy even the biggest eater, and the hungriest diner.

Each guest is entitled to 2 pieces of the live seasonal oysters, and unlimited portions of everything else that is on offer. Here's the marinated salmon with avruga caviar.

All you can eat Burrata that's freshly imported from Italy??? Say what?

The veal agnolotti with hazelnuts, baked potato gnocchi, and four cheese risotto with summer truffle were all really delish! I was already pretty full before the main courses arrived and didn't think I would be able to stomach much of the pasta dishes. Maybe I was having too many glasses of champagne and wine, but hey, I'm not complaining! To my utmost surprise, I polished off a big portion of the pans, and was even alternating between spoonfuls of the agnolotti and the gnocchi, to decide which I like more. If you love pasta, maybe you should scale back on the amount of antipasti, so that you can have more of the well-executed pasta. Who knew that heading to a champagne brunch requires such strategic planning?

The aromatic duck breast with onion compote and mustard sauce had my attention the moment it arrived. I love duck so I was, naturally, very excited about it. Unfortunately, the duck was a tad tough and dry. The flavours were good though!

I'm very sure that you'll be too full to move physically, or to move on to desserts. But you have to activate your second stomach for the sweet treats waiting for you.

The Saturday Brunch, which runs from 12pm to 3pm on the last Saturday of the month, is priced at $98++ and it includes a free flow of Spumante wines, beer, house wine, juices and soft drinks. I think it's quite a good deal, even if you're here for the food more than the wine, or the other way around. A top-up of $30 will grant diners access to a limitless flow of champagne.
