Hello everyone! So my pup, Snuffles, and I left Singapore on 15 June 2022 and we travelled around Europe and the UK for 13.5 months. We just flew home on Singapore Airlines on 2 August 2023 and I thought I would do up this post since I know how everyone wants to travel with their pups! Dog-Friendly Northern Lights Tour in Tromso, Norway

 

Snuffles and I went to Tromso with the sole aim of catching the elusive Northern Lights/Aurora Borealis. We were too early for other winter activities such as dog-sledding or whale watching which was quite sad, but I guess we just wanted to make sure that we caught the lights! We were there 1-4 October 2022. It took me awhile to find a dog-friendly company that will accept Snuffles on the almost 10-hour tour.

Maison Astor might just be the best dog-friendly hotel that I’ve stayed in on my entire 6 month holiday in Europe. Sicily is one of the most beautiful places that I've ever been to. Even though I only had just over a week to spend here, and it was a mad rush visiting 4 different cities, I was really glad that I added it to my itinerary. Sicily is, no doubt, one of, if not the most dog-friendly places in Europe. Sure, Germany. France and Switzerland are incredibly dog-friendly but our four-legged babies aren't allowed in supermarkets. In Sicily, the supermarkets even have trolleys with a designated area for your pups to sit in. I was so amazed and impressed! I love that the people here love dogs! Now, after you've booked those air tickets for you and your pup out of the country, it's time to start looking at accommodation options! Here's a list of dog-friendly hotels and airbnbs that we stayed at in Europe! The highlighted ones are really good, and the rest are at least, decent! We did not include the ones that we did not fancy, and we also want to take this opportunity to thank our friends who hosted us! 

I would say that all hotels, except the ones in Greece and those under the Petit Palace group, charge a pet fee that ranges from 8 euros - 35 euros (sometimes per night, sometimes per stay). Airbnbs typically do not charge an extra fee for pets, but I do recall the airbnb in Bilbao charging us an additional 5 euros per day that we had to pay in cash.

Hôtel Bastille Spéria - Best Dog-Friendly Hotel in Marais, Paris (Very Near Bastille Metro Station)

Paris is full of dog-friendly hotels, but few check all of these 3 important boxes : affordable, well-located, and modern. If these 3 factors are as important to you as they are to me, you will definitely be pleased with Hotel Bastille Spéria which is an outstanding hotel in Marais(4th arrondissement). Our visit to Palermo saw us staying 2 nights at Ai Tre Mercati, a bed and breakfast right smack in the thick of action.
