GU:UM - Popular Korean Steakhouse on Keong Saik Celebrates Its Second Birthday with a new Hanwoo Sharing Set Menu

Took me long enough to visit GU:UM but better late than never, hey?

GU:UM, the popular sister restaurant of NAE:UM, is one of the few steakhouses in Singapore to offer the premium Jeju Hanwoo lower loin(grade 1+ to 1++ - equivalent to MBS6-7). GU:UM recently celebrated its second birthday with a new “Hanwoo & Namul” sharing set menu ($168++/ per pax).

My dinner experience started with a beautiful glass of burgundy, and a visual treat involving a platter of glorious meats.

We were then greeted by a quartet of snacks which comprises the signature Yukhwae Jeon, Leek & Doenjang, Karae Chicken Tart, and Nokcha Guksu.

While every bite was delish, the tart really stood out with its lovely medley of flavours and textures. It was simply immaculate. And the incredibly appetising and addictive Nokcha Guksu stole my heart with its sour notes, firm noodles, and tender pork jowl. I could have an entire bowl of this as a main course!

Next, the highlight—A Feast with Hanwoo—comprising premium 1++ grade Hanwoo Lower Loin, Jeju Handon Pork Collar, Tiger Prawns, Dalkochi (Korean chicken skewers), arrived with grilled vegetables, banchan, and fresh vegetables ssam. Executed to perfection, the meats were tender, juicy and, honestly, impeccable. The portion was substantial and things were kept interesting as we paired the meats with different combinations of banchan. Never a dull moment, that’s for sure.

The hearty feast was rounded off with Namul Bap (not your regular rice - the texture was ace), and a comforting and really tasty Galbi Tang that definitely took me by surprise. I wasn't expecting so much depth and umami in the galbi tang and we finished every drop of it.

Finally, a light and fruity Hwachae for a refreshing finish. Even though there were multiple componetns in this, GU:UM made sure that every ingredient shone. This was defo one of my top meals of 2026!
