Singapore Airlines was just named the world's best airline at the 2026 Skytrax World Airline Awards! This is the 6th time Singapore Airlines has received this award.
This is my second time flying on Singapore Airlines Suites (Singapore to London August 2026). The first time around, I flew from London to Singapore on SQ319 Singapore Airlines Suites in August 2023. Here's a quick review of The Private Room at Singapore Changi Airport and flight SQ308 from Singapore to London. This post will also contain a little bit of comparison between SQ308 and SQ319, the first class lounges, and the cabins and amenities.
Check-in & Departure
I took a cab and told the driver to turn left into the private driveway leading to First Class departure, which is right before door 1 of the regular row of departure gates at Changi Airport Terminal 3. I alighted, and 8 people came up to the car to help me with my bags. I was a quickly ushered to the reception lounge and desk where check-in was handled smoothly and efficiently. I then went through the dedicated SIA first class departure gate where there was one immigration officer and a few e-gates. No one was in the lounge or going through the gates (around 10pm at night) so I was done with check-in and immigration checks in literal seconds.
The Private Room
Once you exit immigration, you're almost immediately at the escalators which will bring you to the Singapore Airlines lounges. I was met promptly by a staff at the entrance and brought to The Private Room.
I headed to the dining area as I wanted to have dinner first. It was pretty quiet, and I was swiftly attended to, as expected. I asked if the lunch menu was available and I was shown not just the dinner and lunch menu, but also the breakfast and live station menu. So to say I was spoilt for choice, is definitely an understatement. So I learnt that Accor has taken over the running of the lounges so even if some of the dishes on the menu look similar to Book The Cook items on the flights, they're not the same at all. If you come by for dinner, all the menus will be made available to you. You can also visit the First Class Lounge and Business Class Lounge with The Private Room access
Rules : Only passengers flying on Singapore Airlines First Class/Suites have access to The Private Room, and they are not allowed to bring any guests.
Dinner and Menus
From the dinner menu, I got the Lobster Bisque, Miyazaki Wagyu Satay(so so good), Seared Tenderloin, Classic Lobster Thermidor, Charsiew Don and Mini Choux Craqueline Puff with Kaya. Food was generally good, though the tenderloin was a tad tough.
From the lunch menu, I ordered the Fusilli with Pan-seared Scallops in Garlic Cream Sauce
The staff even personally went to the First Class Lounge to bring the best dishes over for me to try! Talk about impeccable service. I hardly eat Singaporean food but these were all delicious! The last item is a braised duck congee — something I wouldn't order but it was so tasty! I also got to try a really lovely red wine that was not on the menu. I had such a good time here and I was SO stuffed.

There are 3 showers in total and I used both the 2nd and 3rd one. The 3rd one is the largest of the lot, and it really is much larger than the second shower (which already is VERY spacious). Lalique amenities, a toilet bowl that automatically opens when it senses that you're near enough, excellent water pressure, plush bath towel, tooth brush and toothpaste, powerful hairdryer — everything you need for a comfortable shower.
Nap Room
How spacious and luxurious!
There are 4 private nap rooms and guests can use them for a maximum of 2 hours (usually). However, if you're using the room and there's no one waiting after, you're able to use the room for a longer period of time. Before I took Room 4, I was told that it seemed like a very quiet night and they won't disturb me unless someone needs the room. I went in at about 2am and managed to take a nap until 6am. The lights kept turning on though, pretty sure I woke up at least 3 or 4 times to switch them off. The bed was comfortable and thankfully, it wasn't too noisy due to low occupancy in the lounge. The rooms aren't soundproof so I could still hear noises around quite clearly but I'm also an extremely light sleeper.
Breakfast
My flight was at 9 in the morning so I got up at 7am to get dressed and go for a quick breakfast. I was still so full from dinner that I didn't have much of an appetite but the staff made sure I was well fed anyway, They often came over to check on me and offered more food. Of course, the signature Singapore Laksa came highly recommended, and guests can request for more lobster if they like. I was told that the congee is a must-try and it really was delicious! I had 2 glasses of fresh orange juice too.
First Class Concierge
Launched on 1 August 2026, The First Class Concierge service is a personalised service that makes the Suites experience that much sweeter. While I was having my breakfast, Flora, my concierge, met me at my table and informed me of my boarding details and told me she will be back at 820am to escort me to my flight which was at 9am. A little while later, she came back and said there's been a slight delay and she will come back to meet me in another 20 minutes.
Luckily for me, my flight was at gate A2 which was just right round the corner so it's a very short walk. I was expecting Flora to walk me just to the departure gate, but she accompanied me right through the security check, through the exclusive suites boarding lane, and right to the door of the plane where she then wished me a safe flight. This certainly made me feel special, and the entire journey/process from leaving The Private Room all the way to my seat took less than 10 minutes.
Cabin 1F
Known to be the largest cabin in Suites class, cabin 1F boasts around 50% more floor area than 3F which I took on my previous flight. Wow!
Before I settled into my seat, I was told to leave my bag on the floor and the flight attendants will keep it for me. I was also handed my Lalique sleeper suit, and asked if I wanted a blanket. Once I've settled down comfortably into my seat with my blanket over, and feet slipped snuggly into my Lalique slippers, I was handed a hot towel, and a glass of champagne as I had expected.
Take-off was quick and smooth and I was asked what time I wanted breakfast, to which I replied 11am. Once the flight took off, I asked for my bed to be made immediately so I could take a nap before breakfast. One of the things I absolutely love is the Bose headphones. They're COMPLETELY noise-cancelling — perfect for a light sleeper like me.
Menus, Meals, Book The Cook, Beary 3.0 & Amenities
I ordered the Roasted Veal Chop (succulent bone-in veal chop roasted to tender perfection, served with a rich morel mushroom sauce, a medley of seasonal vegetables, and a cheese-baked potato) via Book The Cook. Unfortunately, it was quite tough and I didn't enjoy it. I didn't eat very much of it and the flight attendant did ask me how it was and apologised, and asked if I wanted anything else.
I went to bed shortly after and woke up a couple of hours later and asked for snacks. The menu was predominantly full of local Singaporean dishes/Chinese cuisine and it only had a sandwich as an alternative, so I went for some salted caramel popcorn and caviar flavoured chips. I ordered the Beef Noodle Soup thinking it would be something like pho or Thai boat noodles but they were pretty much Chinese-style noodles. It was alright, I didn't fancy it very much so didn't eat very much of it too. Would have loved more Western options but I guess I could have gone for the sandwich!
I was napping when it was dinnertime so the flight attendant gently woke me up. Dinner started with some warm bread. The garlic bread and rye bread came highly recommended and I had one of each. The garlic bread was stellar as always!
The starters were amazing — the standard and ever-perfect Singapore Chicken Satay, Cold Poached Lobster on Olivier Salad (awesome) and Sweetcorn Soup with Fresh Spanner Crab(so fragrant and delicious).
Osetra Caviar with classic condiments and warm blinis — always a highlight
I pre-ordered the Wagyu Yakiniku(expertly grilled in traditional yakiniku style), which came with a medley of seasonal vegetables, kimchi, wakame seaweed soup and warm steamed rice, via Book The Cook. My flight attendant was telling me that I made a superb choice as this is what he usually recommends guests to order. And this might be the best meal that I've had on Singapore Airlines yet! The wagyu was really tender and fatty, and it was just such a comforting treat with the rice and seaweed soup. I loved that they gave some kimchi to balance out the dish. Excellent!
I was so full and couldn't try both dessert on offer. So I asked the flight attendant for her recommendation between the Warm Chocolate Peanut Tart or Yuzu Cheesecake. She recommended the tart and it was a great choice. The wine selection was great as well!
In-flight Entertainment

I watched 4 movies : The Devil Wears Prada 2, Hoppers, Over My Dead Body, Wuthering Height.
Music selection : they have all of Taylor Swift's albums!!
I managed to do some work on my laptop so the wifi connection was actually not too shabby. Also, thankful for wifi because there was a work mishap when I was on the plane omg.
Toilets/bathrooms
There are 2 dedicated bathrooms for Suites passengers. I prefer the one with the full length mirror!
Service
Singapore Airlines has always been know for their service and I really liked my flight attendants on this flight. They were warm and friendly, and noticed little things about me. They were always attentive and really quick, and made sure I was well taken care of. They also took time to chat with me without being intrusive, and I loved especially that they noticed that I had a photo of Waffles (my dog who's passed) in the cabin. Before I left, they told me that they hoped to see me on my return flight as they fly to London every month.
