Lunch Buffet Extraordinaire @ KUVO

Media Invite

KUVO is derived from the French word cuvée, which means "blend". A good name indeed because KUVO is a masterpiece of multiple concepts coming together in a 9513 square feet space in the heart of Orchard. Located on the second level of Orchard Shopping Centre, diners get a sense of being away from the hustle and bustle of the city but are in fact, sitting right in the middle of it. Orchard has just gotten more exciting with this one stop wonder of bespoke cocktails, New World wines, international cuisine and pretty gift shop

The interior design is the result of the union of traditional Japanese Shoji screens and contemporary styles.

Main Courses :

Kuvo Atlantic Cod Meuniere ($38++)
The medley of flavours from the sweet pea crusted fresh cod medallion, pearl barley fricasse and citrus nutty brown butter is a delightful one. The contrast in textures, and the sweetness and freshness present in the cod medallion were especially noteworthy. A lighter option as compared to the rest of the main courses

Chargrilled Wagyu Half Pounder - $32
This was the best of the five main courses that we tried! A thick slab of chargrilled housemade Wagyu beef patty sandwiched between toasted buns and fibre, complemented with red wine caramelised onions, bacon, grilled tomato, gherkins, golden fries and greens! Definitely value-for-money for that huge portion and it was delish too!

Duck Classique - $36
A classic French dish that sees a French duck leg confit sitting in amaretto prune jus and accompanied with oven-roasted soft cheese potato cake and greens. This didn't leave an impression and was rather forgettable, unfortunately

Slipper Lobster Laksa Lemak - $22
This spicy assam coconut broth with thick vermicelli and slipper lobster was pretty amazing. It was packed full of flavours and the texture of the broth was on point. A little spicy, a little sweet, a little sour and brilliantly put together, in my opinion. I think I finished most of the soup. Yupp, that good.

King Prawn Noodle Soup - $20
Pretty much our usual prawn noodles consisting of tender pork slices, fish cake and yellow noodles but played up with the use of King Prawns and a very robust soup base. Those crunchy huge prawns were a joy to tackle and the mildly spicy superior broth was seriously addictive.

Dessert time! Always my favourite time of the day. These cute little bite-sized sweet treats were generally good, with the chocolate passionfruit tart taking the top spot on my list!

KUVO is a really nice place to just kick back and relax. Its spacious and really conveniently situated. Do check out their Elixir Bar that is helmed by mixologist Yutaka Nakashima too! The Lunch Buffet Extraordinaire is available on weekdays(excluding public holidays) from 12pm-230pm and runs till 31st May
