(CLOSED) Sopra Cucina @ Pan Pacific Orchard

(EDIT : SUNDAY BRUNCH HAS OFFICIALLY CEASED DUE TO MANPOWER ISSUES. All dishes featured are available on the Ala Carte menu)

I've walked past Sopra a couple of times but I've never gone in. When I finally stepped in for the first time, I realised what I have been missing out on. Sopra is a huge space beautifully decorated with vintage ornaments and furniture. It exudes a comforting and relaxing vibe and makes it quite the perfect venue for events, dinner and drinks. It is also a popular haunt for Ladies Night and has one of the awesomest happy-hour deals in town but people should really know about their Sunday Brunch. For just $66++, diners can have unlimited servings of Sardinian and Italian dishes. Top up $22 and you can drink your fill of Prosecco and wines. Now, tell me, isn't that a total bang for the buck?

Pescatora Pizza
Buffets are hugely popular in Singapore and while standards are usually not consistent or not that great at buffets, things are quite the opposite here at Sopra. The quality of food is quite honestly, impressive. I was especially blown away by the freshly baked pizzas which were packed full of flavours and generously topped with fresh ingredients.

Polpo alla Carlofortina
Dressed with celery, olives, pine nuts, basil and home made dressing, this slow-cooked octopus dish has long been an extremely well-received dish.

Carpaccio di Filetto di Manzo
Sliced beef tenderloin with parmesan shavings that will leave you craving for more. Best thing is, you can order as much as you want!

Prosecco
I had multiple glasses of the yummy Prosecco. Free flow alcohol is always a good idea

Malloreddus alla Campidanese
A classic Sardinian dish that scared me a little initially with that "worm-like" shape. I'm insanely afraid of worms and as much as I know that this is food, I still had that irrational fear of touching it. But well, all it took was a few "worms" to change my perception. I was scooping spoonfuls of this into my mouth in no time. It was absolutely delightful. The rosemary pork sauce was spot on.

Spaghetti Carbonara
Can I declare this as my favourite carbonara? I fell in love with the flawless texture of the pasta and that addictively delicious cream sauce. I love pasta but carbonaras aren't usually my thing but this is one carbonara that I can have over and over again.

Costolette D'Agnello
Everyone loved the lamb chops with mint sauce! I didn't try it but it's been said that these were tender and not gamey at all.

Torta del Giorno (Cake of the Day)
The dessert selection isn't that wide, with only two items on the menu. Nothing to rave about but the carrot cake was pretty decent.

For just $88++, the Sunday brunch at Sopra Cucina is seriously, seriously, value for money. Do make a reservation before you head down to avoid disappointment! The non-alcoholic buffet comes with coke, sprite, lemon tea, coffee and tea at just $66++ and I think that this is one of the best Sunday buffet deals in town. Perfect for families and just about anyone.
