13 Best Sushi Omakase Restaurants in Singapore (From $108 - $300/pax)

Japanese omakase has exploded in popularity over the years. Whether its for Kaiseki, Kappo, or sushi omakase, Singaporeans are flocking to Japanese omakase restaurants more than ever before. One of the earliest omakase restaurants to have made its mark must have been Teppei. They still offer their very affordable and popular omakase which will fill you up to the brim. I remember the days where online booking wasn't such a big thing and people had to call for hours once phone reservations were opened to only be disappointed as they were already fully booked for months. 

 

Singaporeans love cheap and good stuff, but a good omakase more often than not comes with a hefty price tag. Big names such as Shinji, Shoukouwa, Oshino, and Sushi Kou offer $350 - $500 omakase and they're often fully booked and the wait for a spot to dine there might take months. If you're looking for great omakase options that are more wallet-friendly or a mid-range omakase treat for a special occasion, here are 8 restaurants you should consider!

 

Kairyu Omakase - Best Sushi Omakase Restaurant in Singapore in 2026

I love sushi omakase but the prices in Singapore have gotten seriously out of hand. Even restaurants that are not michelin-starred are charging exorbitant amounts. If you're going after an omakase restaurant that's helmed by a Japanese chef, or award-winning, in a central area, be prepared to shell out at least $200++ for dinner. 

So imagine my delight when I discovered Kairyu Sushi Omakase ($148++ for dinner) by Chef Naoki Tsujioka and Chef Keizo Iwasaki as I was doing my research for my birthday celebrations this year. Given its price point, I did not expect the chefs at Kairyu to be Japanese, and I honestly did not expect too much from this meal BUT it's quite possibly the best sushi omakase in Singapore right now (in terms of taste, and value for money)!

Took me a long time to finally put this list here(I don't know why) but here are my favourite restaurants in Singapore, and obviously the best restaurants in Singapore to me. 

I might have forgotten some great places, but will update this post as I go along!

 

I have personally eaten at all of these places before, so I hope you'll like them too! Places that I have highlighted are places that I have revisited.

Goodbye, Alibi - Cocktail Bar With Savoury Cocktails, Crazy Programming & $12 Happy Hour Cocktails in Tanjong Pagar

Goodbye, Alibi, which soft-launched in June 2025, finally debuts its official new menu featuring 14 signature cocktails with bold, unorthodox flavour combinations. Goodbye, Alibi was conceptualised with the enthusiastic drinker in mind — the one who looks for their third place where they can comfortably sip in silence or get rowdy with friends; and where they can sip their forever favourites or find the most daring drinks to excite their jaded palates. A brave concept built on a theme of secrecy, mystery, and curiosity, the bar aims to be a safe space for all communities to meet and gather, and focuses on unconventional community-building initiatives. Guests can also pen anonymous confessions and read the secrets left behind by others — an interactive and memorable experience. 

The new menu? The perfect hat-tip to our drinkers. Though savoury sips remain a niche pleasure in general, Goodbye, Alibi goes all in with five different creations named cheekily after dating life : 

• Summer Fling in Bangkok ($25) : a refreshing highball style cocktail made with tequila, kaffir lime leaf, ginger, lemongrass, shallots, tomato, grapefruit, soda, lime, prawn

• My Crazy Ex ($25) : Whisky, vinegar, soy caramel, ma la spices, citrus, soy crisp/vegetarian mock goose (not for the faint of heart) 

• Miso Broken ($25) : Vodka, pickled radish, wasabi, miso, citrus, roasted seaweed

• Hang Flower, Hang-Over ($25) : Tequila, pickled chilli, fish sauce, citrus, mango foam, black sesame

• Kill Me Softly ($27) : a spirit-forward martini style cocktail with gin, dry vermouth, katsuobushi, kombu, garlic brine, a quail egg

• Coffee Meets Banana ($26) : banana rum, cold brew coffee, salted cream cheese

GU:UM, the popular sister restaurant of NAE:UM, is one of the few steakhouses in Singapore to offer the premium Jeju Hanwoo lower loin(grade 1+ to 1++ - equivalent to MBS6-7). GU:UM recently celebrated its second birthday with a new “Hanwoo & Namul” sharing set menu ($168++/ per pax).

Dog-Friendly Northern Lights Tour in Tromso, Norway

 

Snuffles and I went to Tromso with the sole aim of catching the elusive Northern Lights/Aurora Borealis. We were too early for other winter activities such as dog-sledding or whale watching which was quite sad, but I guess we just wanted to make sure that we caught the lights! We were there 1-4 October 2022. It took me awhile to find a dog-friendly company that will accept Snuffles on the almost 10-hour tour.
