The Pantry @ Shop Wonderland

 photo P3063120.jpg
Shop Wonderland is just one of the many cafes along Haji Lane but you can be assured that it's the prettiest and most unique one! When I chanced upon it about two months ago, I just stood in the cafe in amazement hahaha. But because it was a Sunday and the place was packed, I didn't get to try anything.

This time we went there on a weekday and we were the only ones around yay!

Lola's Cafe

 photo P2072379.jpg
Made it for brunch this time round at Lola's! Their brunch menu ends at 3pm and we barely made it by reaching there at 250 haha. A friday afternoon it was and the cafe was incredibly packed. We scored the last available table for a group of three outdoors and as much as it was scorching hot and I think I was sunburned in the process of dining there, we sure had an enjoyable meal!

Hatter Street

 photo P2072453.jpg
This whimsical dessert cafe that goes by the name of Hatter Street strikes me first as having gotten its inspiration from Alice in Wonderland. True enough, a wonderland experience ensues right when I stepped into this bakehouse.

Sun Ray Cafe

"FOOD, PRETTY PLEASE???"

We brought the little one out for some playtime before his monthly grooming session. Please pardon his dirty whiskers haha they are the result of him stealing butter bread from the kitchen.

Have long been wanting to bring Waffles here but I just never got down to it. Finally got the chance to visit!

The Coffee Shot

 photo PA069064.jpg

I was assigned by X to find a place for Brunch and I chose The Coffee Shot as it was relatively near to Bugis, where we were heading to afterwards. However, this is quite possibly the worst brunch I've ever had in Singapore.

W39 Bistro & Bakery

 photo P9218736.jpg

Good news have finally arrived for the westsiders. For a long time, the only places in the west where we could get a decent brunch and a good cup of coffee are Bukit Timah and Holland Village. And one of the common complaints were that there's nothing to eat in the west. W39 has brought hope to the western part of our sunny island!

Opened by the people behind 3 Inch Sin, Craft is a cafe that I've been wanting to try because I love the lava cakes from 3 Inch Sin! Taking over the space that Cold Rock used to occupy is this simple cafe that supposedly has an impressive range of desserts and coffee

O'Batignolles

X and I were on the way to Club Street Social for brunch on a Saturday afternoon when we drove past O'Batignolles and I saw "Brunch from Paris". That got me excited haha. O'Batignolles is located just about 20 metres away from CSS. After looking at the menus from both places, we decided to have brunch here before heading to CSS for dessert. Parking is available right outside the restaurant.

Isn't the shop front adorable! Can't wait for our trip to Europe this May!

Hot chocolate - $6.50

The hot chocolate tasted more like a warm glass of milk with a very slight hint of chocolate. I was definitely disappointed

Photobucket
Eggs Benedict (with Swiss Coppa) - $13

I asked if I could change my salad to something else and the server kindly offered bacon! The hollandaise was more on the bland side but the savory parma ham made up for it. Pretty small portion though

Photobucket
Eggs Pacifico(with Smoked Salmon) - $13

X thought the salad was quite good and the rest of the dish to be just average. Also, the pieces of smoked salmon were rather small.

Photobucket
Mini Pain Au Chocolat - $3

Photobucket
The pain au chocolat was crispy and fluffy but I felt it wasn't fragrant or sweet enough

Photobucket
Cute little bucket!

Service was good and the servers were really nice and warm. However, we had to wait for quite a long while before our food was served. The cafe is simple but cozy and it's a really nice place to relax and spend a lazy weekend afternoon just reading the papers or watching the world go by.
