Pasta Fresca Da Salvatore @ Boat Quay
With a long history of 28 years, three outlets and 336 pasta dishes under their belt, it's no wonder that Pasta Fresca is a household name when it comes to Italian cuisine. As you may already have guessed from the name of the restaurant, Pasta Fresca is widely known for their range of pasta dishes. However, did you know that they do a pretty mean steak and yummy pizzas too?

The Chop House @ I12 Katong
With a team of experts wholeheartedly committed to serving the tastiest fare at affordable prices, it's no wonder that The Chop House at VivoCity has achieved such astounding success. They have boldly invaded one of the most popular malls in the east to do what they do best. Are you ready for what they have to offer?
Needless to say, the meats here are outstanding. The USDA Prime Grain Fed Ribeye ($38) had a fantastic char, was beautifully pink in the middle and absolutely delish. Three different sauces and a tasty house-made onion jam accompany the juicy and tender cut of beef. A side of fresh watercress provided a refreshing kick to the dish. It is an unusual pairing but definitely one that works.

Le Bistrot du Sommelier - One of the Best French Restaurants
I used to be under the impression that one has to pay through the nose to have good French cuisine in Singapore. Especially for a heavy eater such as myself, I thought French fare, which typically is served in bijou portions, would leave me unsatisfied after my meal. Le Bistrot du Sommelier, however, proved itself as a great exception.

District 10 Bar & Grill @ Suntec City Mall
On Tuesday, 6th October, District 10 Bar & Grill had its grand opening for its newest restaurant at Suntec City Mall. I managed to pay a visit prior to the grand opening to see what it was all about.
The outlet at Suntec City specialises in dry-aged meat. Some people might ask what’s so special about dry-aged meat. I can tell you that dry-aged meat can be a bit pricey but the price difference is definitely worthwhile. Once you’ve tried dry-aged meat, it’d be hard for you to try anything else.

Sugarhall @ Amoy Street
Sausages have never tasted this good. First and foremost, it's an astounding feat to be churning out your own sausages in house and secondly, it's definitely not an easy feat making them this delish. The House-made Sausages ($32) at Sugarhall really left an impression. Taste wise, texture wise and looks wise, these sausages aced them all.

Jamie's Italian @ Forum (Orchard Road)
If you have been to Orchard Road in the recent months, you would have most probably caught a glimpse or two of the eye-catching Jamie's Italian signboard outside Forum Shopping Mall. This is the second outlet of the global success to have opened up on our sunny little island, and the first to be serving up pizzas.

Brunch @ FYR Cycene Ond Drinc (Boon Tat Street)
Back at FYR for their new brunch menu which is significantly different from the brunch that we are used to. We often go for big breakfast platters, eggs Benedict or French toasts these days but the menu at FYR is a Modern European take and it actually left quite a deep impression.

Hungry Heroes @ 33 Tessensohn Road
When you let a Captain America fanatic pick a dinner venue, this has to be it. We came to Hungry Heroes all hungry and expectant. The place was very nicely dolled up with life sized superhero models, tons of pictures and figurines. However, we were greeted with rather poor service on arrival and it kinda did affect the rest of the meal.

The Carving Board
The Carving Board has taken the western part of our island by storm with its affordable and delectable selection. I popped by on Sunday night at 8pm and was the tenth person in the queue and little did I know that I would queue for 50 minutes just to place my order. Even though my food took about 20 minutes to arrive(which is short compared to the time I spent queuing), I was really unhappy about it. I mean, would you rather queue for 20 minutes and be able to sit down for 50 with your pals or would you rather stand and queue for 50 minutes and sit for 20? Well, I would rather the former.
That aside, I must say that the food was pretty good.

The food scene in Singapore is growing so quickly that we are often at a loss when it comes to picking a venue for dinner. We have to look through reviews, look up locations and decide what to have when we get there. How does a fuss-free and sumptuous dinner for a party of four sound to you?
