Lai Huat Signatures is a casual dining tze char restaurant in the heart of the central business district. Hokkaido Izakaya - Lovely Japanese Dishes!
New to the scene and here to stay, Hokkaido Izakaya is a solid outfit that stands tall and proud along Tanjong Pagar Road. With almost all of their ingredients and produce imported from just four different towns in Hokkaido, diners can definitely find a taste of Hokkaido right here. The Milk Hotpot with Salmon ($18) is not to be missed. Made using fresh milk from Hokkaido, the broth is amazingly rich with a slightly viscous texture and every mouthful packs an explosion of flavours. I've never really been huge on soupy stuff or hotpots to be frank, but this changes everything. I was legit sad when they took it away even though I had already finished all the soup. It's sad to see good things go you know?

Fu Lin Men Dou Lao @ North Canal Road
Fu Lin Men Dou Lao has been opened since April 2015 but they haven't done much publicity till now because the star behind the dishes and cuisine here has only managed to come to Singapore recently. Master Chef Nian who is the two-time winner of the grand Manchu and Han Royal Imperial Court Feast (known as “Man Han Quan Xi”) culinary quest by China Central Television is the brilliant mind behind much of the conceptualisation of the menu.

The Black Swan - Luxurious and Elegant European Fare

Sugarhall @ Amoy Street
Sausages have never tasted this good. First and foremost, it's an astounding feat to be churning out your own sausages in house and secondly, it's definitely not an easy feat making them this delish. The House-made Sausages ($32) at Sugarhall really left an impression. Taste wise, texture wise and looks wise, these sausages aced them all.

Park Bench Deli @ 179 Telok Ayer Road
Is this sight reminiscient of a popular Vietnamese dish? The boys at Park Bench Deli have been dazzling huge crowds at pop-ups and they finally have a physical space to call their own. Opened by a team of three who come from pretty impressive backgrounds, the sandwiches rolled out at this cool joint are not just a sight, but a taste to behold too

Brunch @ FYR Cycene Ond Drinc (Boon Tat Street)
Back at FYR for their new brunch menu which is significantly different from the brunch that we are used to. We often go for big breakfast platters, eggs Benedict or French toasts these days but the menu at FYR is a Modern European take and it actually left quite a deep impression.

Mrs Lee's Favourites @ TAO Seafood Asia
Media Invite
Why Mrs Lee's Favourites, you might think. All the dishes in this Mother's Day menu are refined versions of homecooked dishes that Chef Lee Tong Kuon cooks on a regular basis for his lovely wife. Aptly named, with a very sweet story behind it, the Mother's Day menu at TAO did not disappoint and left us belly full and very happy

Chef Lee Tong Kuon, the former executive chef and co-owner of Thai Village, is the driving force behind the highly rated TAO Seafood Asia at Asia Square.
