7 Inch Square Pizza has been around for a few years now and they've always been focused on their signature pizzas, which comes in a 7 inch by 7 inch square. They have recently ventured into their very own brick and mortar shop that specialises in pizzas, pastas and salads. Conveniently located on Anson Road, their menu caters to the working crowd and allows diners to customise their own meals.

Mellben Signature - Delightful Tze Char at Tanjong Pagar Plaza
Mellben is irrefutably one of the hottest names in town when it comes to crabs or tze char. I've been to Mellben once in 2012, and I fell so deeply in love with the soup of their claypot crab bee hoon that I insisted on taking away the rest of the soup, so that I could have it for supper. I haven't been back since because the north just seems too far for me. Hence, you can imagine my happiness when I learnt that they now have an outlet at Tanjong Pagar!

Hokkaido Izakaya - Lovely Japanese Dishes!
New to the scene and here to stay, Hokkaido Izakaya is a solid outfit that stands tall and proud along Tanjong Pagar Road. With almost all of their ingredients and produce imported from just four different towns in Hokkaido, diners can definitely find a taste of Hokkaido right here. The Milk Hotpot with Salmon ($18) is not to be missed. Made using fresh milk from Hokkaido, the broth is amazingly rich with a slightly viscous texture and every mouthful packs an explosion of flavours. I've never really been huge on soupy stuff or hotpots to be frank, but this changes everything. I was legit sad when they took it away even though I had already finished all the soup. It's sad to see good things go you know?

(CLOSED) Restaurant ANDRE @ Bukit Pasoh Road
Dining at Restaurant ANDRE can be a long wait. They're always fully booked and reservations have to be made three months in advance at times. I'm not one with much patience but I've certainly been dying to dine here since forever. Lucky me, I know the Pastry Chef of Restaurant ANDRE. Matin got me a reservation for lunch on a Friday afternoon and to be very frank, I was counting down the days fervently. Two weeks never felt this long. I must say that the wait was absolutely worth it as I legit had the Meal of the Year here. An experience beyond words.

The Populus Coffee & Food Co. @ Neil Road
By the folks behind Department of Caffeine and 2Degrees North Coffee Co, one can expect a certain level of standard over here at The Populus. I can promise you that this place will be packed in no time. I popped by on a Thursday afternoon at 1 and the entire space was almost at full occupancy. Still in their soft launch phase, but already dishing out delicious fare, Populus is here to impress and here to stay.
The Spring Pancake & Fried Chicken ($21) is a must-order, in my opinion. I love that soft and lightly crisp texture of the pancake, studded with hints of sweetness from the presence of corn. What's even more noteworthy was the fried chicken which was perfectly crisp and wonderfully tender and juicy inside. A flawless combination together with the homemade ranch dressing that will capture your heart. One thing though, the pancake hardens if it's left out for too long so do take note!

Humpback @ Bukit Pasoh Road
Carrying a fun and cheery vibe, Humpback sits pretty next to The Flagship and is one of the latest projects by the awesome folks behind Jigger and Pony. With five establishments under their belt, the wonderful team still makes sure that only the very best is served at every one of their babies. Humpback impressed me a great deal with its cleverly crafted dishes and awfully friendly and warm service. I have to say that its been awhile since I've been impressed at a place that focuses on small plates.

Flor Patisserie at Duxton Hill celebrates her fifth birthday with a brand new look, a much larger space and a new range of cakes. Flor Patisserie has always been one of my favourite bakeries. Their Japanese-inspired French pastries are always light, easy on the palate and always leave me craving for more. You can be sure of the quality and freshness of the cakes at Flor as they are freshly baked daily and are crafted using only the finest ingredients sourced from all over the world.

Brunch @ FYR Cycene Ond Drinc (Boon Tat Street)
Back at FYR for their new brunch menu which is significantly different from the brunch that we are used to. We often go for big breakfast platters, eggs Benedict or French toasts these days but the menu at FYR is a Modern European take and it actually left quite a deep impression.

Choya Cocktails @ Neon Pigeon
Media Invite
Made from the ume fruit, Choya is an all-natural traditional Japanese liqueur that requires a year to produce. The ume fruit has been commonly mistaken as plum but it is in actual fact, very different from plum. Choya is typically enjoyed right from the bottle or on the rocks but how does a Choya cocktail sound?

Teppei Japanese Restaurant
I have wanted to dine here since a year ago but I always missed the reservation date. So when 3rd August came, I finally remembered and called in at 10.30am and I actually managed to get through by 10.37. Only seven minutes. I felt like I was the luckiest person on earth especially when I realised how some have called for hours and not get through. I made a reservation for 4 and I had been counting down to this day ever since!

Pince & Pints
Burger & Lobster has been on my mind ever since my visit to London. So when I heard that Pince & Pints is opening here, I was beyond excited! I saw a couple of pictures and couldn't help but note the almost identical reproduction. I really wanted to dine here but also heard about the crazy queue and no reservation policy. So I got my awesome friend, Iggy, to help me with reservations as he knows the owner! And yes, lucky me got to dine here on my birthday!
