District 10 Bar & Grill @ Suntec City Mall
On Tuesday, 6th October, District 10 Bar & Grill had its grand opening for its newest restaurant at Suntec City Mall. I managed to pay a visit prior to the grand opening to see what it was all about.
The outlet at Suntec City specialises in dry-aged meat. Some people might ask what’s so special about dry-aged meat. I can tell you that dry-aged meat can be a bit pricey but the price difference is definitely worthwhile. Once you’ve tried dry-aged meat, it’d be hard for you to try anything else.

The Halia @ Singapore Botanic Gardens
I don't know why I've never been to The Halia at Botanics before. I was seriously blown away when I arrived at the restaurant. It's so beautiful and I love the greenery and how serene and calm the place is. I was thinking that it might get very warm and humid because we were dining outdoors but the soft breeze kept us cool all night long. Seriously, why haven't I been here before?

AEIOU @ King George's Avenue
It isn't difficult to locate AEIOU but the absence of a signboard means that you need to know exactly how the place looks. The tell-tale signs are vintage chairs and metal grills on the outside of the cafe and you just can't miss those eye-catching words "Oriental Antique House"

Brunch @ FYR Cycene Ond Drinc (Boon Tat Street)
Back at FYR for their new brunch menu which is significantly different from the brunch that we are used to. We often go for big breakfast platters, eggs Benedict or French toasts these days but the menu at FYR is a Modern European take and it actually left quite a deep impression.

(CLOSED) Salt Tapas & Bar @ Raffles City
I had a wonderful experience at Salt Grill & Sky Bar awhile back and have always been meaning to pay a visit to Salt Tapas & Bar. And finally, finally, I did and my evening here was nothing short of amazing too. Sitting prominently outside of Raffles City, Salt Tapas seems to carry more of a chill vibe with the whole alfresco thing going on but the interior is classy and cosy at the same time.

Revelry @ Lorong Kilat
We popped by this bright and colourful space for dessert after our brunch at Rise & Grind. Five of us shared two dessert waffles

Rise & Grind Coffee Co
The new kid in the Bukit Timah neighbourhood, Rise & Grind has been drawing a great amount of attention to the very old Bukit Timah Plaza. There's hardly any reason for me to go there except for some late night pool but Rise & Grind is almost reason enough for me to make a trip there specially. Because, that Tom Yum Pasta.

Straits Express @ Kallang Wave
Media Invite
Helmed by Peranakan chef, Philip Chia, Penang-born street-food chef, Frankie Ooi, and our very own Anglo-Hainanese chef, Bermuda Say, can you guess the three types of cuisine served at this railway-themed restaurant?
Paying tribute to Singapore's colonial heritage and set on creating a dining establishment where they can reminisce their childhoods, the owners of Straits Express decided on a concept that evokes nostalgia and a menu boasting delicious and familiar comfort fare

(CLOSED) The Mama Shop
Late to the party, but at least I'm finally here! Kinda waited for all the craze to die down first before making a trip here. Popped by for brunch with Derrick and Charleen on a Sunday afternoon and I was honestly shocked to see the place empty, save for a blogshop holding a photoshoot. I'd expected this place to be packed to the brim, especially with all the publicity that it had had and its celebrity owners.

Spruce @ Bukit Timah
Media Invite

I've been to Spruce at Phoenix Park numerous times and after a couple of failed attempts at visiting this outlet at the Old Fire Station, here I am, finally! I had the opportunity to try a couple of items from their ala carte menu and their Festive Set Menu and it was a full-filling dinner!

Plain Vanilla Bakery
Plain Vanilla is the place I go to for my fix of salted caramel cupcakes. I'm not a fan of cupcakes but I can't resist the salted caramel cupcake from PV! Definitely the best in Singapore, in my humble opinion! I was really excited to finally be able to check out PV Bakery after our tasting session at 40 Hands!

40 Hands
Media Invite

40 Hands is one of the pioneers of the cafe culture in Singapore. Back when Tiong Bahru was still a sleepy estate, 40 Hands was already drawing huge crowds all the time. I remember visiting it back in 2011 and falling in love with their tau sar pau, when I don't even eat red beans! 40 Hands has come a long way since and has recently undergone a facelift!
